Effect of dietary astaxanthin on reproductive performance, egg quality and larvae of clowfish <i>Amphiprion ocellaris</i> (Cuvier, 1830)

This study was designed to evaluate the effects of astaxanthin in broodfish diets on reproductive performance, egg quality and larvae parameters clownfish (Amphirion ocellaris). Five treatments were tested with 5 levels (Carophyll Pink 10% CWS) 0, 50, 100, 150 200 mg/kg added feed. Each treatment repeated triplicate supplemental feeding trials arranged for 13 months. The results showed that there significant differences hatching rate egg, malformed survival 3 days post-hatch (p<0.05) among supplements. highest lowest observed supplemented feed, respectively 92.14 %; 93.57 % 0.55 %. However, supplementary did not affect re-maturation spawning period, frequency, fecundity, diameter larval size nemo fish treatments. also suggested requirement broodstock improve performance
